blogging woes, the life of the Dawsons

Continued computer issues have prevented me from updating the family blog for some months, but here I have a few minutes to refresh......from Dony's computer!

List style;
Dony- completed several more wedding and portrait sessions, and has finally found a perfect publisher for his albums, top notch quality, not so affordable, but definately worth it! Dony spent 3 days this past week in the hospital (1 night) after attending scout camp and acquiring a lovely chigger bite, his foot and ankle became infected, hot, red, swollen and painful. After 2 ER visits he was admitted for IV antibiotics and has almost completely recovered.

Michelle- A dream of mine for several years was to become a step aerobics instructor, and I have finally accomplished that goal, and feel very confident at teaching the most difficult format of all group exercise classes now! I am now a primary teacher, for 7-8 year olds, with a challenging group, and I am learning a lot. I was asked to be the PTA treasurer at the elementary school next year, I'm sure that will keep me busy!

Shane- Finished off the school year getting perfect scores on 2 of his TAKS tests, and missing only one on the 3rd. That is AMAZING!!! He was well decorated at the school awards assembly, receiving a plaque for being runner-up in the area spelling bee, the 7th grade Art award, and the 7th grade English award, exceptional honors!!! He came away with 5 medals!

Christelle- is pursuing the family tradition of smartness by earning commended performances on her TAKS tests as well! Christelle seems to excel at anything she does! When she came home with a mid-term progress report showing 2 low B's, we asked her to do better and she ended the year with 4 A's and one high B (in only 2 weeks time!!)

Kimberly- Likes to sing! Kimberly also received all A's the whole year long. Kimberly has been improving in Karate/Ju Jitsu and loves art and music. Her art work was selected to be displayed in the City of Arlington Art Museum!

Rebekah- Graduated Kindergarten this year--wow!!! Rebekah is so cute, with an adorable personality. She finished off Kindergarten as an independent level 2 reader, with recognition for her writing skills! Rebekah is physically strong and amazes everyone in the Karate/Ju Jitsu class (she is the smallest, but not one bit behind the others)

Nathan- Is sure ready for Kindergarten now, but must wait for his birthday to catch-up! One more year before he starts school, but he knows everything a new kindergartener should--even writing his own name without anyone ever teaching him! I must say Nathan is a funny character, who always keeps the family entertained with his own theme music, unique dances, sounds, and facial expressions!

Everyone----Schools out for the summer!!!!! The 4 eldest kids have been taking Karate lessons for 4 months now and are so fun to watch. The girls all finished thier first year of piano lessons with a recital in May featuring thier lovely new skills. The family took a day trip to Houston 3 weeks ago to visit NASA and the beach and collect shells. The kids all walked right into the water--in thier clothes!

This past week we were thrilled to have Janeen and her family visit for 6 days, we went to the park, harvested fresh corn from our garden, and went to Six Flags. They will be back this next weekend for the 4th of July, we have too many plans already to be crammed into one day!

Sounds like lots of great things going on. I found it interesing that we have the same calling. Seth and I teach the 7-8 year olds as well. They are a great group.
